Special Guest Dr. Gad Elbeheri

Dr. Gad Elbeheri obtained his PhD from the University of Durham, UK in 2004 and his main research interests are cross-linguistic studies of developmental dyslexia and its manifestations in both English and Arabic as well as Learning Disabilities, Reading in English and Arabic and Inclusion. An applied linguist, Dr. Elbeheri worked for a number of prestigious organisations which include the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London, before he moved to Kuwait where he worked as both an Expert and the Technical Director of the Early Learning Challenges & Disability Project, United Nation Development Programme and he also worked as the Executive Director of the Centre for Child Evaluation & Teaching: The premier learning centre in Kuwait which combines research and practice on specific learning disabilities across the Arab World. Dr. Elbeheri was also the Dean of the Australian College of Kuwait and he is now a Board Member of the International Dyslexia Association and the Chair of its Global Partnership Programme as well as an Editorial Board Member of Dyslexia: An International Journal of Research & Practice. Dr. Elbeheri has more than 50 publications in English & Arabic including peer reviewed journal papers, book articles, books and tests. He is a regular speaker at international conferences. He is a regular speaker at international conferences. Dr. Elbeheri's has authored Motivating Pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties: A Teacher's Practical Guide, published by Routledge in 2017. His second book on motivation is  Motivating students with Dyslexia: 100 Ideas for Empowering Teachers in the Classroom, due to come out in December 2020 from Routledge in London.
